Industrial players (Engie, Colruyt/Eoly, Hydrogenics, Port Zeebruges, Fluxys and Elia), Ghent University (Department Electrical Energy, Metals, Mechanical Constructions & Systems and Department of Economics) and WaterstofNet are backing the ‘Greenports’ study project. On Monday the 21st of January the study’s kick-off meeting took place in Brussels. With the port of Zeebruges as a case study, the group will now consider future possibilities for a large-scale conversion of wind energy to hydrogen in harbour areas.
